Close yourself for renovation

Close yourself for renovation

When contractors need to correct the foundation or inner workings of a home, what do they do? They empty it, gut it and close it for renovation. They spend their time focused, quietly building and remodeling the home. They do not come up for air until the remodel is complete.

You are the home for your soul. If you want to change your life you need to close yourself for renovation.

Connect with your inner self, listen to your inner voice without the chatter of the outside world. Figure out who you are, rebuild and reinvent yourself.

As you grow in life you are not the same person you used to be. Take time to get to know the ever evolving you. Take time to learn, trust and love yourself fully. Figure out what inspires you, kindle the fire within.

In the quiet you will find your way.

It’s okay to disconnect from people from time to time. It’s okay to take a break from social media. It’s okay to put your phone on silent. It’s okay to be alone with your thoughts and figure out the next steps in your life.

Prioritize yourself…crawl into your cocoon to dream, read, be still and grow. Hibernate and work on you…only you. How can you hear the desires of your heart if you don’t get still? Construct and mold yourself into the person you want to be.

When it’s time to come out of hibernation you will know. You will be better and stronger for it. This is a form a self-care.

I want you to spend the next 30 days examining your life. Ask yourself the following questions, dig deep and discover who you are. Answer these questions with an open heart. See where the answers lead you. Follow your curiosity, then take the steps to evolve into your new life.

  1. Who is the person you want to be next year?
  2. What are the things that make your heart smile?
  3. If money wasn’t an issue, what would you like to do every day for the rest of your life?
  4. What are you most jealous of?
  5. What would be your biggest regret if today was your last day on earth?
  6. When you were a child what did you dream of becoming? What brought you joy back then?
  7. What subject can you talk about for hours?

I hope in your renovation you find the woman who was there all along. She was waiting for you to discover her hiding place. She was waiting for you to step into all of who you were created to be. You were created for this moment in time. What will you do with the time you have left?

Open your heart, listen to the dreams floating behind your eyes and transform.
